As garlic is enthusiastically welcomed in the house, I decided on this vegetable recipe by noobcook.
As I am only serving for 1.025 persons (I'm the 0.025 person because while I don't eat vegetables, The Failed Chef will still want to taste how the dish turned out!), I cut the serving size accordingly.
Vegetables in oyster sauce and garlic oil
2 tbsp vegetable oil
5-6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tbsp vegetable oil
9 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2 tbsp hot water
1/4 tsp sugar
150g vegetables
- Fry the chopped garlic in heated vegetable oil.
- When garlic turns light brown, turn off the flame.
- Pour the garlic and oil in ramekin. The garlic will continue to cook until it turns golden brown. Set aside.
- In the other ramekin, combine and mix oyster sauce, hot water and sugar with a spoon. Set aside.
- Boil water. Blanch vegetables for approximately 30 seconds and transfer on a serving plate. Drizzle garlic oil (in the first ramekin) and oyster sauce mixture (in the second ramekin) over the vegetables.
- Serve.
- Taste, and grudgingly admit that vegetables don't taste too bad after all!
